The Victorian church building is surrounded by beautiful gardens which are open for all the community to share. A grassy area for games and exercising the dog, borders of flowers and shrubs give space to sit and take in the sun or contemplate life with all its riches and stories.
All of this is maintained by a team of churchgoers and local community who meet the first Saturday of every month to keep the gardens in great order. It's a social gathering with tea and biscuits interrupting the weeding, hoeing and occasionally harder physical work to keep things looking spic and span. It's easy to join in and enjoy being part of the team. Just come along at 10.00 am on the first Saturday of each month. If you don't know much about gardening you will be paired up with another friendly volunteer.
