About St Paul's
St Paul's is a welcoming and caring church not just for its members but for all in the Parish. If you would like to discuss personal matters and needs then please contact the Vicar as below and he, or one of our qualified team of Pastoral Assistants, will make arrangements to see you in full confidentiality.
Baptisms, Weddings and Funerals
These are the happiest of special times and, in the case of funerals, often the saddest. We bring a Christian faith perspective to these and can discuss with you the appropriate arrangements, not just for a Service, but also give pastoral support. Specific arrangements apply to each, so click the following as necessary.
Founded in 1872, St Paul's today is an active and welcoming Anglican church in Beckenham, South London.
In our web pages you will find lots more information on what we do, who we are and how you will be made welcome within in our church family, but in brief......
Our three services on Sunday allow for varied styles of worship and we have a strong commitment to children and young people as part of our church life.
The 10.30 am service has a creche and ‘Sunday Squad’ for children up to age 10 (year 6) and we have a youth group (ages 11+) on Sunday term nights at 7.00 pm.
For the wider community we also have a popular Babies and Toddlers’ group every Thursday morning and our monthly after school ‘Families Together’ event with crafts, activities, games, story-telling and a meal together for younger children and their parents/carers.
Home Groups during the week and additional courses give scope for spiritual growth as well as introductions to the basics of Christian faith. All that we do is supported by prayer including a reflective session of Bible Reading and Prayer in our chapel every weekday morning.
We are committed to serving our Parish community and value our links with the St Paul’s Beckenham Pre School and Worsley Bridge School. Our halls are used by local groups for a wide variety of activities and events and we always welcome new users.
Our community choir is open to all without audition and we also welcome everyone in our area to regular activities like the Wednesday Fellowship, Book Club and the monthly Gardening Team maintaining our delightful grounds.
Every year we hold a popular ‘Parish Tea’ event in the gardens for all in the locality as well as many other community functions.
St Paul’s is an open, supportive community of people discovering and living out the Christian faith together with a vision of :-
Sharing God’s love, revealed in Jesus Christ.
