After the deeply upsetting expose on last month's BBC's Panorama about institutional racism in the Church of England, we are holding on 5th June a 'conversation with Bishop Rose Hudson-Wilkin' on precisely that subject.
As one of our open Theology Events, it follows the painful reflective process we have engaged in this past year as a parish, where we have sought to confront our own blindspots.
The Church of England stands at a crossroads. Rather than return to life as it was before lockdown, the national Church is preparing to move into a new season. This requires reflection and action in many areas of the Church's life, not least in the related spheres of race, privilege and opportunity.
Now is the time for reflection and action: reflection in acknowledging former sins; and action, as we move toward wholeness, toward a Church that better reflects the just and incorruptible values of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Join us as Bishop Rose reflects on her experience as a priest, Chaplain within the walls of Westminster, and as Bishop.
